Imran was invited as the Guest of Honour of his alma mater, Siglap Secondary School where the batch of students had their Graduation cum Dinner & Dance last night. It was heartwarming to see the students screaming, applauding and the group of students seated in front stood up at the last verse of Selamat Ulang Tahun Sayang which he performed after his speech. THE WHOLE TABLE STOOD UP.
I was the only non-Siglapian. The teachers thought I am one of the students and a few of whom I met thought I am one of the teachers. Watched the slideshows that every class put up with their pictures, personal messages and melancholic songs. All of them really made effort to dress up and they don’t look like 17 or 18 to me anymore! They have Music Producing and Hairstyling as subjects! Isn’t it so cool!! As usual, like any school dinner and dance, there was Mr & Miss Siglap and as they announced the winners for some quizzes, the dance floor started, semua jadi luar kawalan! I remembered those in my ITE days. The tudung girls was left going around cari members. I smsed a friend “Aku dekat event where the group of students are dancing right in front of me abis aku kena langgar langgar. HAHA.“ A group of them took pictures of Imran and I thought to myself that they could also go out to the foyer where there are brighter lights cos the pictures would turn out better lah kan.
It was quite a highlight to my week. Kinda made me reminisce those days when we were younger and have no clue with what’s ahead.
Much Thanks to Mr Faris Basharahil for this as well as Siglap Secondary School!
